729 ml of a mixture contains milk and water the ratio 7:2, How much more water is to be added to get a new mixture containing milk and water in the ratio 7:3?

    729 into 7:2 parts.
    So 7+2 = 9,
    729/9 = 81. Assumption, if 81 lit water is added it becomes 7:3 .
    So answer is 81 lit.

    Answer: (2) 81 ml

    Explanation:-

    The ratio of milk and water in a mixture = 7: 2
    The total quantity of a mixture = 729ml
    Then, the quantity milk = 729 x 7/9 = 567 ml
    The quantity of water = 729 – 567 = 162 ml

    Let water to be added X ml
    Then, 567/(162 + X) = 7/3
    X = 18 ml
    Hence, the answer is (2) 81 ml.
