    Answer: (a) 7:2
    Explanation:-

    In a mixture of 35 litres, the ratio of milk and water 4:1

    Let the milk in mixture = 4X litres, and water in mixture = X litre

    Then, 4X + X = 35
    5X = 35
    X = 7

    Quantity of milk in mixture = 4 x 7 = 28 litres
    and quantity of water in mixture = 7 litre

    1 litre of water of is added to the mixture
    now, the quantity of water in mixture = 7 + 1 = 8 litres

    New quantity of mixture = 28 + 8 = 36 litres

    New ratio milk and water in mixture = 28/8 = 7:2
