    India is the biggest network of road and it is the second largest world road network. NH 7 is the longest National Highway (2369 km) from Varanasi to Kanyakumari and the smallest highway is NH47A (6 km) from Ernakulam to Kochi Port. National Highway in India is managed by National highway authority of India (NHAI). It’s responsible for maintenance, building and up gradation of National Highway. It operates under the “Ministry of road transport and Highway” of Government of India.

    NH 2 is the part of grand trunk road, Asia oldest and longest major road. The Delhi and Kolkata road is known as National highway 2, It is the busiest road network in India and total length of NH 2 is 1465 km and the route is Faridabad> Mathura> Agra> Allahabad> Varanasi> Mughalsarai> Aurangabad> Dhanbad> Durgapur> Kolkata.
