    Bhisma Sahani

    Bhisma Sahani (8 August 1915 – 11 July 2003) was a Hindi writer, playwright and actor, famous for his novel and television screenplay Tamas. Sahani gated his master’s degree in English Literature from government college Lahore. Sahni also participated in the freedom struggle and joined the Indian National Congress during the quit India movement. He moved to India after partition. Sahani was awarded by several award, Including the Padma Shri (1969) and the Padma Bhushan (1998), and U.P Govt. awarded for ‘Tamas’ in 1975, and Indian’s highest literary award the Sahitya Akademi Fellowship in 2002.
