India’s first nuclear test was conducted in Pokhran. Pokhran  known as “peaceful nuclear explosion” and it was test on 18 May 1974. It was usually referred to as the Smiling Buddha. It is located in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan state in India. It was surrounded by the rock and five salt ranes.
