    Answer: (2) 72 

    Explanation:-
    Let the third number be X

    Second is twice the first and is also thrice,
    Then, Second number = 3 X  & first number = (3 X)/2 
     = 3 X/2

    The average of three numbers = 44
    Therefore, the sum of three numbers = 3 x 44
      = 132

    Then, 3 X/2 + 3 X + X = 132
    (3 X + 6 X + 2 X)/2 = 132
    11 X/2 = 132
    11 X = 132 x 2
    X = 132 x 2/11
    X = 12 x 2
    X = 24

    So, the largest number = 24 x 3 
     = 72

    Hence, the correct answer is option (2) 72.
