    Answer : (4). CFC

The ozone layer level vary by season or latitude, In 1979, it is firstly observed in Antarctica. Ozone layer depletion is also known as Ozone Hole.

The Ozone is a highly reactive molecule that contains three oxygen atoms. its symbol is O3. ozone gas is blue in color and strong odor , Ozone gas forms a layer on the stratosphere of Earth. the ozone layer is the next layer after stratosphere. it is about 15 to 50 km above the earth’s surface, it is shield to protects earth from ultraviolet B radiation emitted from the sun. Strong UV rays , CFCs, are the main cause of the ozone layer depletion. CFCs are Chlorofluorocarbon or made up of Chlorine, Florine, and Carbon atoms that are extremely stable.

CFCs is the main pollutants that are responsible for green house effects as well as Ozone layer depletion. About 80% of the ozone layer depleted by the by the CFCs. The other most depleting substances are : CFCs, Halons, Methyl Chloroform, Methyl Chloroform, Carbon tetrachloride and Hydro fluorocarbons ( H CFCs ).

    Uses of Chlorofluorocarbons :
    1. It is used in refrigerators, freezers and in air conditioners as coolants,
    2. Used in industries for dry-cleaning agents and hospital sterilizer and
    3. used also in Foam products (e.g. cushions and mattresses)
