    Peroxyacetyl Nitrate is a Secondary Pollutant.   Peroxyacetyl nitrate (PAN) is a photochemical smog which is a mixture of air pollutants that includes gases and particulates. This is air pollutants formed by the action of sunlight on volatile organic compounds and nitrogen oxide.
