How Many Questions were Wrongly?

A students gets 4 marks for each correct answer and loses 2 marks for each incorrect answer in an examination. He attempts 40 questions and scores 100 marks. How many questions were wrongly?

    Answer: (2) 10
    Explanation:-
    10 question is wrong,
    Then, the right question = 40 – 10
    = 30
    The marks obtained by 30 correct answer = 30 x 4 = 120
    The marks obtained by 10 incorrect answers = 10 x 2 = 20

    Then, the total marks obtained by a student = 120 – 20 = 100

    Hence, the answer is (2) 10.
