The Speed of the Second Train in (km/hr) :

A rain 108 m long moving at a speed of 50 km/hr crosses a train 112 mt long coming from opposite directions in 6 seconds. The speed of the second train in (km/hr):

  1. 82

    Answer: (1) 82

    Explanation:-
    Let the speed of the second train be X km/hr
    Then, the relative speed = (X + 50) km/hr
    Speed in m/sec = (X + 50) x 5/18
    = 5 X/18 + 50 x 5/18
    = (X + 50) x 5/18 m/sec

    Then, the distance covered by the trains = (108 + 112) mt.
    Therefore, 220/(250 + 5 X)/18 = 6
    250 + 5 X = 660
    5 X = 660 – 250
    5 X = 410
    X  =410/5
    X = 82 km/hr

    Then, the speed of second train is 82 km/hr.

    Hence, the answer is (1) 82 km/hr.
