    Answer: (3) Rs. 2, 000

    Explanation:-

    Let the principal be Rs. X

    Formula –
    Simple Interest = Principal x rate time /100
    Amount = Principal + Simple Interest

    Given-
    Rata = 5%, Time = 6 years & Amount = Rs. 2, 600

    Then, X + X x 5 x 6 /100 = 2600
     X + 3 X/10 = 2600
    (10 X + 3 X)/10 = 2600
    13 X = 2600 x 10
    13 X = 26,000
    X = 26, 000/13
    X = 2, 000

    Then, the amount is Rs. 2, 000.

    Hence, the answer is (3) Rs. 2, 000.
