    On 11 October 2014, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Sansad Adarsh Gram Youjana on the birth anniversary of Jayaprakash Narayan. Adarsh Gram Youjana is a rural development program. The main goal of this program is to develop the rural areas.
    On this program Sheela Bhatt said, “Each ‘adarsh village’ should have piped drinking water, connectivity to the main raod, electricity supply to all households, library, telecom and broadband connectivity including CCTVs in public areas. Emphasis will also be on e-governance.”

    Under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Youjana scheme Prime Minister has adopted Jayapur village from his Constituency, In Uttar Pradesh, Amethi village Deeh adopted by Rahul Gandhi, Amethi is constituency area of Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi adopted a village from his constituency are Rai Bareli ‘Udwa’, former cricketer master blaster Sachin Tendulkar also adopted a village ‘Puttamraju vari Kandriga in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh.
