    After Antarctica (the world’s largest cold desert) and Arctic, Sahara desert is the third largest desert in the world and also hottest desert in the world. Sahara desert located in the northern Africa, cover an area of about 3,600,000 square miles, same size as the United State or China. ‘Sahara’ is Arabic world which means ‘the great desert’. Emi Koussi is the highest point in the Sahara Desert. Around 1/3rd of the Earth’s surface is covered by deserts. The people who live in the Sahara are mostly nomads. In the Sahara Goats and camels are the most common domesticated animals. Temperatures in the can reach about 57 C and total rainfall is less than three inches per year.
