What will be The Same Principle in 5 years? If

Rs 6000 become Rs 7200 in 4 years at a certain rate of simple interest. If the rate becomes 1.5 times of itself, the amount of the same principal in 5 years will be:

  1. Rs 8000
  2. Rs 8250
  3. Rs 9000

    Answer: (2) Rs.8250
    Explanation:-
    Given-
    Principal = Rs.6000,  Amount = Rs.7200, Time = 4 years    & Rate = ?
    Simple Interest = 7220 – 6000= Rs.1200
    Formula-
    Simple Interest = P x R x T/100
    Where, P = principal , R = rate, & T = time.
    Then,  1200  = 6000 x R x 4/100
    12 = 60 x R /25
    R = 5 %
    If rate become 1.5 times
    Then, Rate = 5 x 1.5
    =  7.5 % = 15/2 %
    Then, the simple Interest for 5 years,
    S I = 6000 x 15 x 5/2 x 100
    = 30 x 75
    = 2250

    Amount = 6000 + 2250
    = Rs.8250
    Hence, the answer is (2) Rs.8250.
