Sarita was asked to multiply a certain number by 36. By mistake, she multiplied it by 63 and got the answer, 3834 more than the correct one. What was that number?

    Answer: (b) 142 

    Solution:-
    Let the certain number be X.

    According to the question,
    63 X – 36 X = 3834
    27 X = 3834
    X = 3834/27
    X = 142

    Then, the correct number was 142.

    Hence, the correct answer is option (b) 142.
