Which State Setup a Satellite Tracking System?
In May 2015 Himachal Pradesh set up a satellite tracking system to check incidents of forest fires during summer season. The main aim of this tracking system is to protect the precious forest in the state from forest fires. In case of any fire occurrence, the forest officials will instantly receive SMS on their mobiles.
The Forest Minister Thakur Singh Bharamorui said that awareness campaign was being launched throughout the state for protection of forest wealth from fire for which 693 participatory committees had been constituted.
For the people could easily detect fire incidents erected 100 watch towers and more than 90 water tanks constructed and 700 participatory committees had been constituted.
