What will be the Selling Price If he want to 25% gain?

If a man were to sell his hand-cart for Rs. 720, he would lose 25%. At what price must he sell it to gain 25%?

    Answer: (3) Rs. 1200

    Explanation:-
    If a man were to sell his hand-cart for Rs. 720, he would lose 25%.
    Then, the cost price of hand-cart = 720 x 100/75
     = 720 x 4/3
     = 240 x 4
     = Rs. 960 
    He sell it to gain 25%.
    Then, the selling price = 960 x 125/100
     = 960 x 5/4
     = 240 x 5
     = Rs. 1200

    Hence, the answer is (3) Rs. 1200.
