An item costing ₹ 200 is being sold at 10% loss. If the price is further reduced by 5%, the selling price will be ?

    Answer: ( 2 ). Rs. 171

    The cost price of an item is Rs. 200, it sold at 10% loss.
    Therefore, selling price of item = 200 – 10% of 200 = 200 – 20 = Rs. 180.
    Now, cost price is reduced by 5% then, new cost price = 200 -5% of 200 = 200 – 10 = Rs. 190.
    From this new cost price, the new selling price = 190 – 10% of 190 = 190 – 19 = Rs. 171
