What is the Smallest Possible Value of x

The sides of a triangle are 6.5 cm, 10 cm and x cm, where x is a positive number. What is the smallest possible value of x among the following

Answer: (2) 4

Explanation:-
The length of a side must be less than the sum of the other two sides.
Then, X < (10 + 6.5)
X < 16.5 cm

The length of the side must be greater than the difference between of the other two sides.
Then, X > (10 – 6.5 )
= X > 3.5

Therefore, we have two limits for the value of X .
Then, 3.5 < X < 16.5

Then, the value of X will be between 3.5 and 16.5.
the value of the X = 4 cm.

Hence, the answer is (2) 4.
