Solve the Equlation

If 32x-y = 3x+y = sqrt. 27, then the value of 3x-y will be:

  2. 1/sqrt. 27

    Answer: (3) sqrt.3
    Explanation:-
    32x – y  = 3x + y = sqrt.27
    32x – y  = 3x + y = (3)3/2
    comparing on both side,
    2x – y = 3/2               ……………………. (1)
    x + y = 3/2                     …………………. (2)
    Solve equation (1) and (2)
    x = 1 and y = ½
    Then, the value of 3x – y  = 31 – ½
                                          = 31/2  or   sqrt.3
    Hence, the answer is (3) sqrt.3
