The speeds of three cars are in the ratio of 2 : 3 : 4. Find the ratio between the times taken by these cars to cover the same distance.

  1. 2 : 3 : 4
  2. 4 : 3 : 2
  3. 4 : 3 : 6

    Answer: (4) 6: 4: 3

    Solution:-
Let the distance be X km

The ratio of the speeds of the cars = 2: 3: 4
Then time taken to cover the distance will be inversely proportional to its speed = (X/2): (X/3): (X/4)
    = (6 X/12):  (4 X/12): (3 X/12)
    = 6: 4: 3

Then the ratio between the times taken by these cars to cover the same distance is 6: 4: 3.

    Hence, the correct answer is option (4) 6: 4: 3 .
