    Answer: (1) 10

    Explanation:-
    Let two numbers be X and Y

    The sum of numbers is 22.
    Then,  X + Y = 22   ……………………………. (1)

    Five times one number is equal to 6 times the other.
    Then, 5 X = 6 Y
    5 X – 6 Y = 0    ………………………. (2)

    Equation (1) is multiply by 6,
    Then,  6 X + 6 Y = 132   …………………………… (3)

    Add equation (2) & (3)
    5 X – 6 Y + 6 X + 6 Y = 132 + 0
    11 X =132
    X = 132/11
    X = 12

    Put the value of X  12 in equation (1),
    Then,  12 + Y = 22
    Y = 22 – 12
    Y = 10

    So, the smallest number is 10.

    Hence, the correct answer is option (1) 10.
