    Explanation:-
    Let the two consecutive even numbers be X and X + 2

    The difference of their squares is 164.
    Then, (X + 2)² – X² = 164
    X² + 2² + 2 x 2 X – X² = 164
    4 + 4 X = 164
    4 X = 164 – 4
    4 X = 160
    X = 160/4
    X = 40

    Then, the two consecutive numbers X = 40 and X + 2 = 40 + 2
    = 42

    Son, the sum of two numbers = 40 + 42
    = 82.

    Hence, the answer is (1) 82.
