    In 1885, the rights of the tenants on land in Bengal and Bihar were given by the Bengal Tenancy Act.

    The Bengal Tenancy act was passed in 1885, It was a State legislation that describes the privileges and obligations of the zamindars as well as the tenants.  it demanded representative government. In 1885, after founded the Indian National Congress, the association gradually lost ground.
