The length and breadth of a rectangle are 48 cm and 21 cm respectively. The side of a square is two-third the length of the rectangle. The sum of their areas (in square cm) is

    Answer: (a) 2032

    Solution:-
    The length and breadth of a rectangular = 48 cm and 21 cm
    Then, the area of the rectangle = 48 x 21
    = 1008 cm^2

    The side of a square is two-third of length of the rectangle
    So, the side of rectangle = 48 x 2/3
    = 32 cm

    Then, the area of the rectangle = 32 x 32
    = 1024 cm^222

    The sim of the area of rectangle and square = 1008 + 1024
    = 2032 cm^2

    Hence, the correct answer is option (a) 2032.
