Allowing 20% and 15% successive discounts, the selling price of an article becomes Rs.3,060 then the marked price will be

    Answer: (2) Rs.4500

    Explanation:-
    Allowing 20% and 15 % successive discounts,
    Then, the total discount = 20 + 15 – 20 x 15/100
    = 35 – 15/5
    = 35 – 3
    = 32 %

    The selling price of an article = Rs.3060
    Then, marked price = 3060 x 100/(100 – 32)
    = 3060 x 100/68
    = 45 x 100
    = Rs.4500

    Then, the marked price will be Rs.4500.

    Hence,the answer is (2) Rs.4500.
