The perimeter of the football field is 1.6 kilometre. If the width of the field is 200 metres what is the length?

    Answer: (2) 600 metres 

    Solution:-
    Let the length of the football field be X m. 
    The perimeters of the football field = 1.6 km = 1,600 m 

    Formula-
    The perimeters of the rectangle = 2 (length + breadth) 

    The width of the football = 200 m 
    Then,  1,600 = 2 (200 + X)
     200 + X = 1,600/2 
    200 + X = 800
    X = 800 – 200
    X = 600 m 

    Then, the length of the football is 600 metres. 

    Hence, the correct answer is option (2) 600 metres.
