The ratio of pass and fail applicants in E city = 3: 2
The total number of applicants in E city = 1.85 lakh = 1, 85, 000
Then, pass applicants in in E city = 1, 85, 000 x 3/5
= 37, 000 x 3
= 1, 11, 000

So, total number of pass applicants in E city is 1, 11, 000.

Hence, the correct answer is option (d) 111000.

Solution:-
The ratio of applicants in A city = 7: 3
The total number of applicants in A city = 1.25 lakh => 1, 25, 000
Then, failure applicants in A city = 1, 25, 000 x 3/10
= 12, 500 x 3
= 37, 500
The ratio of applicants in B city = 5: 3
The total number of applicants in B city = 3.14 lakh => 3, 14, 000
Then, failure applicants in B city =3, 14, 000 x 3/8
