A man performs 4/7th of the total journey by train, 5/21th by car and the remaining 8 km on foot. His total journey is:

    Answer: (4) None of these
    Explanation:-
    Let the total journey be X km.
    A man covered journey by train = X x 4/7
    = 4 X/7
    And man covered journey by car = X x 5/12
    Remaining journey = 8 km
    Then.
    X – (4 X/7 + 5 X/12)   = 8
    X – (32 X + 35 X)/84 = 8
    84 X – 67 X = 8 x 84
    17 X = 672
    X = 672/72
    X = 39.52 km
    Then, the total journey is 39.52 km.
    Hence, the answer is (4) None of these.
