Two trains of length 100 m and 150 m are travelling in opposite directions at speeds of 75 km/h and 50 km/h respectively. What is the time taken by them to cross each other?
(a) 7.4 seconds
(b) 7.2 seconds
(c) 7 seconds
(d) 6.8 seconds

    Answer: (b) 7.2 seconds 

    Solution:-
    The length of two trains 100 m & 150 m

    The speed of two trains = 75 km/hr & 50 km/hr

    Time taken both trains to cross each other = (.1 + .15)/(75 + 50)
    = .25/125 hr
    = .25 x 60 x 60/125
    = 36/5
    = 7.2 seconds

    Hence, the correct answer is option (b) 7.2 seconds.
