A jar contains a mixture of two liquids A and B in the ratio 4:1. replaced with liquid B the ratio now becomes 2:3. The volume of liquid A present in the jar earlier was

    Answer: (3) 16 litres
    Explanation:-
    The ratio of liquids A and B = 4: 1
    Let be the quantity of Liquid A and B = 4X and X

    According to the question,
    {(4X – 10(4/5)} : {X – 10(1/5) + 10 } = 2: 3
    = (4X – 8): (X – 2 + 10) = 2/3
    = (4X – 8)/(X + 8) = 2/3
    10 X = 40
    X = 4
    Therefore, the volume of liquid A = 4 x 4 = 16 litres.
