Intermittent incidents of arsenic pollution in ground water effects health of people, as arsenic poisoning.

The polluted water is mostly supplied from rivers In West Bengal, India. Ground water comes from deep tube wells, which are few in number. Because of the low quantity of deep tube wells, the risk of arsenic poisoning in West Bengal is comparatively high.
