The average of 6 observations is 45.5. If one new observation is added to the previous observations, then the new average becomes 47. The new observation is:

    Answer: (2) 56
    Explanation:-
    The average of 6 observations = 45.5
    Then, the sum of 6 observations = 45.5 x 6
    = 273

    One new observation added,
    Then, the new average = 47
    The sum of 7 observation = 7 x 47
    = 329

    The new observation = 329 – 273
    = 56

    Hence, the answer is (2) 56.
