    Answer:  (c) 4/21

    Solution:-
    Let X subtracted from 5/14. 

    Then, 
    5/14 – X = 7/42
    – X = 7/42 – 5/14
    X = 5/14 – 7/42
    X =  (15 – 7)/42
    X = 8/42
    X = 4/21

    Then,  4/21 should be subtracted from 5/14 so that the resultant fraction is 7/42.

    Hence, the correct answer is option (c) 4/21.
