What will be the Price of Moped? If

The prices of a scooter and a moped are in the ratio of 9:5. If a scooter costs ₹ 4,200 more than a moped, then the price of the moped is

    Answer: Moped Price = ₹ 5,250  

    Explanation:
    Given data: Scooter price : Moped price = 9 : 5                   eqn. 1
    Let scooter prize is ‘S’ and moped prize is ‘M’.

    So; S = M + 4200                              eqn. 2

    According to eqn. 1 and eqn. 2

    S / M = 9 / 5
    (M + 4200) / M = 9 / 5
    1 + 4200/M = 9/5
    4200/M = 9/5 – 1 = 4/5

    4200 * 5 = 4 * M
    21000 = 4 * M
    5250 = M

    Price of Moped = ₹ 5,250  
    Price of Scooter = ₹ 9,450
