Which Number is Excluded?

The average of five numbers is 27. If one number is excluded, the average become 25. The excluded number is

    Answer: d) 35
    Explanation:

    Given, the average of five numbers = 27
    Therefore sum of five numbers = 27 x 5 = 135

    According to question, one number excluded then new average = 25
    Remaining numbers = 4

    The sum of remaining numbers = 25 x 4 = 100

    The excluded number will be the difference between total of 5 numbers and 4 numbers.
    So, excluded number = 135 – 100 = 35
