    Sahara is the world’s largest desert. The means of Sahara is the greatest desert in Arabic language.  It is a non-polar desert. It is the most expansive and located in northern Africa. It is made up of sand seas, sand dues, dry valleys, salt flats etc. 

    The total area of this desert is 9, 400, 000 square kilometers. The total length and width this desert are 48, 00 km and 18, 00 km.  

    It is bounded by Atlantic Ocean to the west, Mediterranean to the North, Red Ocean to the East and the valley of the Niger River to the South.
