A man travelled a distance of 72 km in 12 hours. He travelled partly on foot at 5 km/hour and partly on bicycle at 10 km/hour. The distance travelled foot is

**Solution:-**

Let the distance traveled on foot be *x* km.

Then, distance traveled on bicycle = (72 –*x*) km.

So, X/5 + (72 – X)/10 = 12

(2 X + 72 – X)/10 = 12

X + 72 = 12 x 10

X = 120 – 72

X = 48 km

Then, the distance traveled foot is 48 km.

Hence, the correct answer is option (d) 48 km.
