# What will be the Area of the Floor? if

The area of four walls of a room is 120 m sq. and the length is twice the breadth. If the height of the room is 4 metres, then find the area of the floor.

**Explanation:**–

Let the length of the room is l m , breadth is b & height is h.

According to the question,

l = 2 b & height = 4 m

**Formula-**

**Area of the four wall = 2 (l + b) x h**

**Where, l = length , b = breadth & h = height.**

The area of the four walls = 120 m (Given in the question)

2 ( l + b) x h = 120

2 (2 b + b ) x 4 = 120

8 x 3 b = 120

24 b = 120

b = 120/24

b = 5 m

Then, l = 2 b = 2 x 5 = 10 m

**Formula-**

**Area of the floor = l x b **

Then, Area of the floor = 5 x 10

= 50 m square.

Hence, the area of the floor is 50 m square.
