What is the Average Cost of One Bag of Rice

A man purchased 7 bags of rice at the rate of ₹ 800 each, 8 bags of rice at ₹ 1000 each and 5 bags of rice at of ₹ 1200 each. What is the average cost of one bag of rice ?

    Answer: (2) Rs.980
    Explanation:-
    Cost of a bag of rice = Rs.800
    Then, cost of the 7 bags of rice = 7 x 800 = Rs.5600

    Cost of a bag of rice = Rs.1000
    Then, cost of 8 bag of rice = 8 x 1000 = Rs.8000

    Cost of a bag of rice = Rs.1200
    Then, cost of 5 bags of rice = 5 x 1200 = Rs.6000

    Total bags of rice = 7 + 8 + 5 = 20
    Total cost of rice = 5600 + 8000 + 6000 = Rs.19600

    The average cost of a bag of rice = 19600/20
    = Rs.980
    Hence, the answer is (2) Rs.980.
