Mughal Emperor Humayun attacked the Chunar fort in 1532, which was under the possession of Sher Shah Suri. Humanyun Abandoned the siege after four months and allowed Sher Shah Suri. Humayun abandoned the siege after four months and allowed Sher Shah to remain in possession of the fort. The Chunar Fort is located in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh in India.
Chunar Fort was built by Maharaja Vikramaditya Ujjain King. It is located 14 miles south-west of Varanasi. According to the mythology, Chunar fort was earlier named as Charanadri. It was believed that Lord Vishnu had taken his first in the Bali Dynasty in the incarnation of Vamana.
