    The Indian Forest Service was set up in the year 1966 under the All India Services Act, 1951 by the Government of India. Indian Forest Service is a type of Civil Services of India which belong to the All India services group, least two services are Administrative Service (IAS) and the Indian Police Services (IPS). Imperial Forestry Service existed during the British Raj from 1865 to 1935. India was one of the first countries in the world to introduce scientific forest management.
