‘Judicial Activism’ in India is related to Committed Judiciary. —- Not 100% sure

Judicial Activism is the term that describes self motivated decision given by high court or supreme court of India, under public interest. For example, cancelation of hundreds of Coal Blocks under corruption charges, restrain criminal politicians from taking part in electoral process etc.

Judicial Activism was started in India  after ‘Emergency period’ declared by Indira Gandhi. After which, she started controlling supreme court’s activities.
