The Union Health Minister Launched Mental Health Policy on
10th October, 2014
On 10th October 2014 Dr Harsh Vardhan Union Health Minster launched a ‘Mental Health Policy’ and told that 10 October observed as the national mental health day. He said, “The World Health Organization has predicted that about 20 percent of India’s population would suffer from some form of mental illness by 2020. The country has only about 3,500 psychiatrists. Therefore, the government is confronted with the problem of lowering this gap significantly over the next decade.” Dr. Harsh Vardhan is the Minister of Science and Technology (India) and Ministry of Earth Science, Dr Harsh Vardhan is a Member of BJP.
