 Nagarjuna sagar Project is one of the Major multi purpose river valley Project in Andhra Pradesh. Nagarajuna Sagar Dam is the world’s largest masonry dam built across Krishna River in Nagarjuna Sagar. 

Krishna River is rising from southern state of India, Maharashtra. In the western Ghats range near the town of Mahabaleshwar. Krishna river drain southeast flow into Bay of Bengal.

According to the Hindu Mythology Krishna river is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu as a result of a curse by Savitri.
