Daisy purchased 6 mangoes, 10 oranges and 5 apples for a certain amount. With 40% less amount Anuj could purchase 3 mangoes, 5 oranges and 4 apples. What percentage of the total amount did Daisy spend on apples?

    Answer: (3) 33.33%
    Explanation:-
    Let the total amount be X
    According to question,
    6M + 10R + 5A = X           …………………….(1)
    and 3M + 5R + 4A = 0.6X         …………………(2)
    Solve equation (1) and (2)
    twice of equation (2) from equation(1)
    6M + 10R + 8A = 1.2X                    ………………..(3)
    6M + 10R + 5A = X   ……………………..(4)
    Subtract equation(4) from equation(3)

    3A = 0.2X
    and 5A = (5/3) x (0.2X) = X/3
    spend by Daisy = X/3 x 100 = 33.33% on apples

    Hence, 33.33% of the total amount spent on apples.
