    Madhya Pradesh is the largest producer of pulses in India. Pulses commonly cultivated in the arid areas of the India. Madhya Pradesh is the only state in the nation who contribute 24% of the overall pulses production. Other states who produce the pulses are Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. In 2013-14, Madhya Pradesh produced 4.3 million tonnes of pulses.

    Pulses play a major role of the diet of the vegetarian population of India. There are many numbers of crops as like Chana, tur, masur, urad, moong and peas. pulses are a very good sources of protein.
