What will be the width of Rectangle? If

The are of a rectangle 50 cm. long is the same as that of a square having a side 25 cm. long. What is the width of the rectangle?

  2. 10 cm.
  3. 12.5 cm.
  4. 15.2 cm.

    Answer: (c) 12.5 cm

    Given- Length of a rectangle = 50 cm
    and side of other square = 25 cm
    Let be the width of the rectangle = X cm

    According to question, Area of a rectangle = Area of the square which side 25 cm

    X x 50 = 25 x 25              {Area of square = side x side and area of rectangle = length x width}
    X = 25 x 25/50
    X = 12.5 cm

    Hence, the width of the rectangle is 12.5 cm
