The Part of Root Involved in Water Absorption is
Zone of root hairs
Root hair cells are outgrowths at a tip of the plants roots. The function of hairs root is to collect water and mineral nutrients present in the soil and take this solution up through the roots to the rest of the plant. The cells in zone of elongation stretch and lengthen as small vacuoles within the cytoplasm coalesce and fill with water. The root cap is a cup shaped, loosely cemented mass of parenchyma cells that covers the tip of the root. THe elongating cells complete their differentiation into the tissues of the primary body in zone of maturation.
