Dara Shikoh was awarded by Shahjahan with title “Shah Buland Iqbal”.

Dara Shikoh was the eldest son of Mughal emperor Shahjahan. He was born in Ajmer on 20 March 1615. He was appointed as Subadar (governor) of Allahabad in 1645 and was appointed governor of the province of Gujrat on 3 July 1948.

Dara was defeated by Aurangzeb and Murad during the Battle of Samugarh from Agra on 30 May 1658.
